1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how MoorHub, a trading name of Labello Enterprises Limited (Company Number 14582462) ("MoorHub", "we", "our", "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit www.moorhub.co.uk and any related websites, applications and services (together, the "Platform").

This Cookie Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. It does not repeat what those documents already cover about how we handle personal data generally — it deals specifically with cookies and similar tracking technologies.

By continuing to use the Platform after choosing your cookie preferences, you acknowledge that cookies will be used in accordance with this Policy and the choices you have made.

2. Who We Are

MoorHub is operated by Labello Enterprises Limited (Company Number 14582462). References in this Policy to "MoorHub", "we", "our" and "us" mean Labello Enterprises Limited trading as MoorHub.

3. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, phone, tablet or other device when you visit a website. They allow a website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. The rules in this Policy apply equally to similar storage and access technologies such as local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and SDKs (together with cookies, "Cookies"), in line with the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations ("PECR").

Cookies may be used to:

  • enable core website functionality, including keeping you logged in and secure

  • remember your preferences and previous choices

  • improve website performance and reliability

  • provide interactive features such as our search map

  • analyse visitor behaviour to help us improve the Platform

MoorHub does not currently use Cookies for advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking. Where we use Google Analytics, we explicitly switch off Google's advertising features — ad storage, ad personalisation and ad user data are always denied, whatever you choose. If this changes, we will update this Policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent again before any such Cookie is set.

Cookies cannot generally be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your device.

4. The Cookies We Use

The tables below set out the Cookies currently used on the Platform, reflecting our actual implementation. We keep these tables under review and update them whenever the Cookies we use change.

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the Platform to work and do not require consent under PECR, as they are strictly necessary for a service you have requested. They cannot be switched off through our cookie management tool, though you can block them via your browser settings (see clause 9).

cookie-consent

Remembers the cookie choices you have made, and the version of this Policy they were made against, so we do not ask again on every visit. Stored in local storage rather than as a cookie.

Until you clear your browser data

First party

We protect against cross-site request forgery by verifying the origin of each request on our servers, so no separate security cookie is needed for that purpose.

4.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors use MoorHub — pages visited, search activity, click behaviour, session duration, device and browser type, approximate location and referral source — so we can improve the search experience and fix problems. They are switched off by default, and the Google Analytics script is not even downloaded until you consent.

4.3 Functionality Cookies

These support interactive features that rely on a third-party service. On MoorHub this means the interactive map on our search page, which is provided by Mapbox, and a short-lived cache of our mooring facilities list. They are set only after you consent.

If you decline them, the Platform still works and your search results are unaffected: the map is replaced with a note explaining how to enable it. Because converting a place name into map coordinates also uses Mapbox, searching by place name requires this category. You can still search using "Use current location", and every other filter — name, waterway, price and facilities — works either way. If you turn this category off, we delete the items below from your device.

5. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, MoorHub uses local storage and cache storage (which hold data on your device without a fixed expiry, and are cleared when you clear your browser data or when you withdraw the relevant consent) and — within any future MoorHub mobile app — SDKs that perform an equivalent function to cookies. The same consent rules in clause 6 apply to these technologies as apply to cookies, and they are listed in the tables in clause 4 alongside conventional cookies.

Non-essential Cookies (analytics and functionality) are switched off by default and are only set once you give clear, informed, opt-in consent. When you first visit MoorHub, a cookie banner lets you:

  • Accept All — allow all analytics and functionality Cookies

  • Reject Non-Essential — allow only strictly necessary Cookies

  • Manage Preferences — choose which categories of non-essential Cookie to allow, each independently of the other

Rejecting non-essential Cookies is as easy as accepting them, and we do not use disguised buttons, pre-ticked boxes, or other manipulative design ("dark patterns") to encourage acceptance, in line with current ICO guidance. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings on this page, reached from the link in the site footer, and can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. When you withdraw consent for a category, we delete the Cookies in that category from your device.

Your choice, and the date you made it, are recorded in your browser's local storage together with the version of this Policy that was in force at the time. We do not hold a copy of that record on our servers. If we change what we actually use, the stored version will no longer match and you will be asked to choose again, so a past choice is never carried over to a different set of Cookies.

Preferences are set per device and browser — if you use MoorHub on more than one device, or clear your browsing data, you will need to set your preferences again.

7. Third-Party Cookies

Where a third-party provider sets a Cookie through the Platform (see the tables in clause 4), we do not control that Cookie directly and recommend reviewing the provider's own privacy and cookie information for further detail on what they collect and how to opt out. We only enable third-party Cookies that require consent after you have given it.

Some services we use never place anything on your device at all, because they run entirely on our servers — our database and authentication provider Supabase, our rate-limiting provider Upstash, our logging provider Axiom, our image hosting on Cloudflare R2, and our email provider SMTP2GO. There is nothing stored on your device to switch off, so they do not appear in the tables above. How they handle personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy. Separately, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and some photography from Unsplash, which lets those providers see your IP address without storing anything on your device.

8. How We Use Information Collected Through Cookies

Information collected through Cookies may be used to operate the Platform, provide account functionality, remember your preferences, understand usage trends, improve search results and mooring recommendations, maintain security, diagnose technical issues, and comply with our legal obligations. Where this involves personal data, it is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies, including third-party cookies, and clear browsing data generally. If you block cookies at browser level, some parts of the Platform — including staying logged in — may not work correctly. See your browser provider's own help pages for instructions: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari and Mozilla Firefox each publish current guidance.

Most browsers also let you send a "Do Not Track" signal; there is currently no accepted industry or legal standard for responding to this signal, so we do not currently change our behaviour based on it — your choices made through our own cookie banner remain the effective control.

10. International Transfers

Our analytics and mapping providers may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on legally recognised safeguards — such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent adequacy mechanism recognised under UK data protection law — to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection.

11. Your Rights and How to Complain

Where our use of Cookies involves personal data, you have the rights set out in our Privacy Policy, including the right to withdraw consent at any time (clause 6) and the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113 if you believe your Cookie preferences have not been respected. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern directly first — see clause 13 for our contact details.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, including whenever the Cookies we actually use change. Where we make significant changes, we will notify users through the Platform or by other appropriate means and, where required, seek fresh consent. The current version will always be available on the Platform.
