About MoorHub

We’re modernising how long-term moorings are advertised and booked.

MoorHub is a UK marketplace for long-term boat moorings. Boat owners can compare individual berths by boat fit, price and facilities, then request a booking or place a bid online, directly with the marina or mooring operator.

Why MoorHub exists

Finding a mooring shouldn’t take weeks of phone calls

Long-term moorings have traditionally been advertised in scattered places and arranged by phone and email, one operator at a time. MoorHub brings vacancies together with consistent, comparable details, and moves the enquiry, booking request and bidding steps online.

  • The traditional way: Vacancies spread across notice boards, individual marina websites, forums and word of mouth.

With MoorHub: Vacancies from operators across England, Scotland and Wales, searchable in one place on a list and a map.

  • The traditional way: Phoning around to find out whether a berth will actually take your boat.

With MoorHub: Every berth lists its maximum length, width and draught, so you can filter by your boat's dimensions.

  • The traditional way: Price, contract length and facilities only revealed once you ask.

With MoorHub: Price, contract length, start date and facilities shown on the listing before you get in touch.

  • The traditional way: Re-sending your details and your boat's details to every operator.

With MoorHub: Save your boats once, then request a booking or bid with the details already on your profile.

How it works

From search to signed contract in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Search by place and fit

Choose a location or waterway and a radius, then filter by site type, berth use, facilities, availability, price and your boat's length, width and draught.

  2. Step 2

    Compare individual berths

See each berth's dimensions, facilities, contract length and start date, not just a marina name and a phone number.

  3. Step 3

    Request a booking or bid

Send a booking request for a fixed-price vacancy, or bid in an auction with a starting price and a fixed end time.

  4. Step 4

    Agree terms with the operator

The operator reviews your request and accepts or rejects it. Once accepted, you arrange payment and the mooring contract directly with them.

Listings built around the berth

The detail you need to decide, before you get in touch

A mooring site is the place, such as a marina, canal bank or wharf. A berth is an individual space at that site, with its own maximum dimensions and facilities. A vacancy is a berth currently on offer, with a price for the whole contract, a contract length and a start date.

Sites are listed as marina, river, canal, coastal or private moorings, and berths are marked for leisure, residential or commercial use. If your boat is longer, wider or has a deeper draught than a berth allows, you won’t be able to book it.

Two ways to secure a berth

Book at a fixed price, or bid in an auction

Book now

Choose one of your saved boats that fits, confirm your details and accept the operator’s terms to send a booking request. Follow it from pending review to accepted or rejected in My bookings, and cancel while it’s still pending if your plans change.

Auctions

Where an operator runs an auction, enter the most you’re willing to pay. We bid for you in £5 steps, only as far as needed to keep you in the lead. Everyone sees the current bid and time remaining, but bidder identities and maximum bids stay private.
